Nick started Design Innovation in 2004 after 20 years of engineering experience in the professional sound, lighting and AV industry. With a real passion for technology, Nick keeps himself and the business up to date with the latest developments in Building Control and Home Automation.
Outside of work, Nick’s passion is the theatre and performing arts as well his wife and two daughters.
Before joining forces with Nick Gale in 2019, David spent nine years as an independent Executive Coach working with business owners, helping them to grow their businesses and improve profitability.
While David will openly admit that Nick is the technical brains within the team, David’s commercial background and experience were what Nick believed was missing from the business. The two of them together, make a strong, balanced team to take the business forward.
Outside of work David is a self-confessed “petrol head” who completed five seasons of 600cc production motorcycle racing before retiring with all limbs intact! David loves music and enjoys the challenges of raising three young children with his wife.
James joined Design Innovation in 2012. James has been trained by numerous of our partners, attaining many accreditations relating to the technologies we use. During his time at Design Innovation, James has built up a vast experience of all aspects of the systems we install which he uses to support Nick with system design as well as overseeing the engineering/installation side of the business.
Outside of work James is also a self-confessed “petrol head” who loves Go-Karting and who’s current project is to build a racing Simulator.
Brad joined Design Innovation as an apprentice in 2015 after studying Electrical Installation Level 2 at Derby College. Brad has developed extensive knowledge and experience of the technologies we use at Design Innovation, so much so that James & Shain are now watching over their shoulders as Brad is certainly a “rising star” within Design Innovation!
Outside of work Brad is, believe it or not, another self-confessed “petrol head” – yes there’s a theme going on here – who’s latest automotive purchase makes David turn green with envy when he thinks back to the car he was running at Brad’s age…
Phil joined Design Innovation in July 2022 as Business Development Manager, having enjoyed a career in sales and marketing roles in a variety of sectors including engineering, graphic design, marketing and foodstuffs.
Outside of work, Phil enjoys playing bass guitar in a local rock band and spending time with his family.
Dima joined Design Innovation in September 2022 as a Senior Engineer. Dima has many year’s experience designing and installing Control4 and KNX systems in homes in Belarus, his home country.
Dima has now moved to the UK with his family, is getting to grips with driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road and enjoys eating his mother-in-laws’ cakes!
Reeve joined Design Innovation as a Trainee Engineer after studying Electrical Installation Level 2 at Lincoln College. Since then, he has been passionate about applying his technical knowledge and developing his skills to deliver high-quality work, which he does day-in-day-out. He is expanding his expertise by working towards his Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation and takes pride in collaborating with senior engineers to tackle complex projects.
Off the job, Reeve enjoys playing football for his local team and when he can, travelling abroad to experience new cultures and broaden his horizons – he just loves foreign food!
Max joined Design Innovation in October as an apprentice to further develop the knowledge and skills he gained completing his electrical installation level 2 at college.
Outside of work, Max spends his weekends playing football and wishing he could drive something better than his current “wheels”.
